Fantastic Holiday.  Beautiful place for the whole family.

Wonderful holiday base to view the delights of Cornwall and the area.

Lovely chalet house, lovely holiday & reasonable.  Seagulls v noisy at night.

Very comfortable good family accommodation.  Would recommend.

Very comfortable accommodation.

St Ives

St Ives - a great place to visit but a lot of guests recommend taking the train as parking is a bit of a pain but it depends on what time of year you go

From my Guest Book - Recommendations of where to visit and where to eat!

2015

  • Iddles Family - on their 5th annual visit! - Another great holiday.  Weather has been good.  Chandlers Fish & Chips in Hayle is worth a visit!

  • Nichols Family - on their 2nd annual visit! - Great Holiday - Stripeys were Fab this year and adapted all activites to keep Anabel safe with her allergies.  Chefs Corner also amazing and made special food for her too!  Recommend Minack Theatre Amazing views.  Fruit Picking and Fresh Fish and Meat from Trevaski Farm

Here is what Shona made in the kitchen at Number 12 with her haul from Trevaski Farm.  AMAZING!

  • Black Family - 1st visit - Great Holiday out and about all week didn't use the park except the pool once (a little cold) Paradise Park - brilliant (stroked a penguin)   Met some Knights at Pendennis Castle, met some Vikings at National Maritime Museaum - did park and float to get there (lots of fun) Caught train to St Ives went to Skys Diner for Pasty lunch , very nice.  Brilliant holiday, brilliant location - we'll be back next year.

2014

  • P, S & J - Lovely week weather wise!! House lovely - needs a bigger sofa though!  complex very quiet although some good laughs in the evening entertainment.

  • Iddles Family - Another great holiday, lovely weather again.  Entertainment poor later in the evenings. Bar shut at 11pm!  But we will be back.  Lands End Fireworks worth a visit.

  • Nichols Family - Great Home from Home with everything you need!  Kids loved Foxy Club, pool and park.  Side came a knocking a couple of times.  Would recommend: Flambards, Cornwall Gold, Truro, St Ives, Penzance, Eden Project, Lands End, St Michaels Mount, Paradise Park.  Hayle Beach is amazing far nicer than St Ives!  Breakfast with Freddy Fox is well worth teh £4.00 for kids.  Chef on site was very accommodating re our numerous food allergies and made my 3 year old a gluten, dairy and egg free cooked breakfast - Note from Sarah - I let the site know this and thanked them for you - Plenty of Gluten Free pasties around (Philps do a couple) but none dairy and egg free too so gave up.  Eden Project good for Food Allergies.  The Galley Chippy in Truro do amazing Gluten Free Fish and Chips (also dairy and egg free)  Great Chicken and chips in the Chippy in Marazion (Opposite St Michaels Mount on Mainland) also allergy free.  Thanks Sarah can't wait for next visit.

  • Birt Family - Beautiful Area, lovely accommodation - will certainly be looking at coming back.

  • J J & T - Had a great time lovely area would come again

  • L L J & J - Lovely base for exploring, nice clean accommodation with good facilities just a little cramped in sitting room in evenings with little sofa.  Apart from that lovely.

2013

  • Ward - Wonderful Weather. Enjoyable stay in No12

  • R & L - We enjoyed the week in No12.  We found everything that we needed here, it is very well equipped.  We used the swimming pool most days and found the laundrette good.  A good 4 mile walk from Leland Saltings into St Ives, pasty, ice-cream and back on the train!  Worth doing!  St Michael's Mount gardens a delight and a ride on the ferry £2.00.  An enyoyable stay.

  • R & L - We stayed here for a week, having stayed at Tolroy Manor before but not at Number 12.  We were very pleased with the accommodation - well equipped, spacious and homely - I would defintely recommend this let to anyone.  Thank you for all the info you sent us too very professional and well organised.

  • P & L - Summer has arrived at last.  Great to be back in Hayle at 12 Strawberry.  It has almost become our second home.  Accommodation always good.  Thanks Sarah for another great fortnight in Tolroy Manor

  • W & G - Thank you Sarah for allowing us to stay at 12 Strawberry Hill - Honeymoon Couple - Lovely clean, homely and very relaxing.  Visited Lands End, approx 40 mins drive - little disappointed with the weather.  Overall cannot fault anything.  Shame we have to leave but would love to be able to come back again in the near future.  "Sid" the seagull loves to knock the door and he had his new babies on the neighbours roof.

2012

  • L & S - Had a lovely week.  Accommodation was amazing - swimming pool, clean a good temperature.  Sauna amazing.  Had lots of visits from sid the seagull he knocked the door every day!!  Would advise people to take the park and ride to St Ives, we drove there once and had to come back as no parking at all.

  • T & I, R  - Had a lovely time very clean and comfortable highly recommended

  • Drewett Family - A  lovely holiday home, everything you could need.  St Ives was lovely with no problems parking in town if a little steep to walk!  St Michaels mount beautiful.  Nice beaches at Portreath, Hayle and ST Ives.  Would recommend Anggarrack Inn (follow signs from big roundabout near Lidl) for fabulous home made food and good beers!  The site is great as a base and the staff friendly but if you don’t like late nights (we had a 2 year old) you may get woken by people coming back from the bar!

  • Iddles Family - Great stay house is lovely the pool was cold and the entertainment was disappointing.  St Ives is lovely and there are a lot of nice places to visit. St Micheaels mount is good  for a day out.  Would definitely stay again!  PS look out for the robin that visits

  • Reynolds Family - Accommodation was amazing clean and tidy and everything you need.   Entertainment at the club had some really good nights staff really friendly .  A great day out in St Ives and also at Paradise Park just down the road.  Did the park and train to St Ives as parking very limited, was very reasonable.  Would also recommend a day out in Falmouth.

  • Codling Family - House is lovely, great location.  Enjoyed visiting St Ives (much better when it’s not raining! Recommend the park and ride) Minack Theatre, St Michael’s Mount and the Levant mine.  The onsite swimming pool was good but quite crowded.

  • Hounsome Family - thanks for a lovely holiday.  Garrack restaurant great for posh meals, Paradise Park great, St Michaels Mount great as well and Trebah Gardens fantastic.  Very well equipped place.

  • Muggleton Coles Family - Had a great time lovely places to visit nice beaches very homely house.will book again for sure

  • Pearman Family - great base with all the essential items lovely warm homely place to stay to all our favourite places we all had a great time here.

2011

  • Hermit Family
Had a fantastic stay again, lovely to be back.  House as comfy and cosy as before!  Would recommend The Tremanheere in Penzance.  Always serves great food and has fantastic service.  Also very family friendly.
  • D & N - from Lincolnshire
Had a great stay, we'll definitely be back again!  Accommodation fab, has everything you need, although would have preferred a full curtain at the kitchen window!  Places we enjoyed going to were Falmouth, Penzance, The Lizard, St Ives.  Also had a day trip to the Scilly Isles to see an Upland Sandpiper.  We didn't see too many new birds while we were here but Nanquidno Valley was kind to us again with great views of a Yellow Browed Warbler and 2 Firecrests.  Hayle causeway is also a great place to observe a variety of birds.
  • Bennett Family
Wonderful!  Couldn't fault this holiday home - great location we'll definitely be back!
  • Ryan Family
It was great so much things to do.  You will never get bored.  Go to the Swimming Pool!
  • Bulmer Family (Mum who is mentioned often is 82!)
Things we enjoyed: Mevagissey - small but perfectly formed.  A delightful tiny fishing village with lovely shops to browse around and delicious fish, chips and ice cream; The Lizard - you can park 100m from the beach for £1.40 which was great for mum, wonderful views and walks; St Ives - caught a dozen mackerel in a 1 1/2 hour boat trip (£25 for one adult and one child)  Also loved the shops and theatre.  Despite its reputation we had no real problem parking on any of the 3 occasions we visited - £5.30 all day; Healey's Cider Farm - if you've time, take the tour, but also worth just a quick visit as you can still have a good look around at 'how it's made' and sample all the various ciders/ jams/ brandys; Lands End -  such a beautiful place for a wander, there were enough things for mum to do whilst the children enjoyed themselves.  Things we wouldn't do again: St Austell, Penzance, Truro (apart from the cathedral), Helston. Forgot to mention Falmouth was lovely but we gave ourselves too little time.  Next time we'll go to the castles.  Also loved walking over to St Michaels's Mount (even mum managed this).  The children loved climbing up and looking around the house even though 'stately homes' aren't their thing.  We made good use of the pool at 10am (and the sauna - me!) but avoided the rather dodgy night time entertainment!  We played scrabble instead!
  • Additional Note from Henry
The Seal Sanctuary was very expensive but well worth the price having a variety of species and animals with interactive learning and informative talks.  We even learnt how to save a beached  dolphin.  We also met "Sid" Nom Nom Nom Nom.
  • Comment From Sarah - Thank you for the feedback - always look out for vouchers for some of these places - Seal Sanctuary Vouchers are the same as Sea Life Centres - look on line before you go or in Reception at the site.
  • The Nock Family
I had an amazing time and came here last year and want to come again and we also went to lots of beaches on one of them half of us went by car and the rest went by train from Emma!
  • Return visit and once again enjoyed our stay.  For info: Family train rover ticket is £8 or £4 adult £2 child at St Erth Station.  Kebab shop in Hayle provided a cheap takeaway alternative which we enjoyed!
  • Iddles Family - Gloucestershire
We had a moooo-ving experience.  Had a great 2 weeks the house had everything we needed.  Sid visited us but didn't come back very often!  Chinese takeaway in Hayle - Sea Pearl - great opposite Co-Op.  Tyringham Arms great Carvery.
  • Crutch Family - South Wales
Thanks Sarah for letting us use your holiday home it's lovely and well equipped.  We had a fantastic week.  We visited many places like; Lands End, Penzance, Falmouth, Sennen Cove, Newquay and Dairy Land (the kids loved it here)  Plenty of things to do and see in all these places.  BIG THANKS!
  • 'The Normans' - Kent
Had a brilliant time.  Visited Pendenise and St Mawes Castles.  Went to Jamaica Inn and Falmouth.  Had a meal at 'Lamb & Flag Inn' - highly recommended.  Don't bother eating in the Shipwrights at Padstow - really rubbish food and service.  Sid popped in to see us several times, came for Breakfast and Afternoon Tea.  Wish he would knock quieter as he made me jump a few times!  Thank you Sarah - great accommodation - will recommend.
  • 'The Archers' - Hampshire
Very nice house Lovely Holiday - Thank you Sarah.  We visited many places - Flambards, Falmouth, The Lizard and Lighthouse - but special for me was Seal watching at Godrevy.

2010

  • Hermit Family
We come to Cornwall twice a year, but this was our first time at Strawberry Hill!  Super dooper equipped house and homely feel.  Falmouth is always good on a 'non beach' day.  Buy a ticket for the Maritime Museum and it lasts all year!  Pizza Express there has fab views of the harbour!  Carbis Bay is always great with Children as is Flambards.  The whole of this part of Cornwall is fantastic even when the weather is stormy we love it!!!!
  • Delafond Family
Lovely holiday home.  Clean, tidy, very well equipped.  Swimming Pool opens 10am - 12   3pm - 6pm not all day!  Great value and lovely owners.  The new 4D ride at Lands End is fun @ £4.00  Would love to come back!
  • J & S
We have had a lovely relaxing break and Hayle is a lovely fishing village and you are well situated to travel pretty much anywhere!  We have been to Lands End and Newquay.  Have had lots of nice meals and would recommend the 'Old Quay House' which is only 5 mins out of Hayle.  If you want a hearty breakfast, go to Heyl's Kitchen in the village.  If you like your Cider, go to Healeys Cider Farm - don't bother with the Cider Farm at Lizards Point.  Lizard Lighthouse is well worth a visit.  St Ives is very pretty but very busy and parking is a nightmare.  Be warned that all car parks are out of the town centre and you have to walk down very steep hills and back up again - no high heels!!  And don't forget to get your Cornish Pasties from 'Phillips Famous Bakery' in the village - steak not mince! Enjoy :-)
  • Comment From Sarah - Thank you for the feedback - previous comment below from Kelly Family about St Ives - Catch the train from Lelant Saltings - not expensive and straight into St Ives.
  • Ryan Family
Lovely holiday, fantastic weather !!  So much to do and places to go.  The house was so well equipped and the home from home feeling helped to make it a relaxing time.  Kids loved the club and kept them amused.  Loved Sennen Beach, Carbis Bay, Falmouth and Minack Theatre.  Great holiday.           PS Sid has two very large Chicks!!
  • Nicholls Family
Lovely well appointed accommodation.  Beautiful beaches at  Gwithian, good fishing trips from Penzance.  If you like veggie food and good old-fashioned service, Johnny's Cafe in Hayle is highly recommended.  The seagulls here have been getting up exceptionally early this week :-( and if they haven't woken us up, the kids club comes round at about 10.30 with whistles!!
  • M & J
Accommodation very clean and tidy.  Good base to explore Cornwall, beaches stunning, great entertainment for children with the "Stripeys"  The weather has been wonderful.  Met "Sid" he came and knocked on the door.  Very impressed with all the information sent to us from the owner.  Will definitely book again.  Thank you.
  • Atkinson Family
A perfect point to explore Cornwall from.  Comfortable, tidy and well kept.  Minutes from 2 major Supermarkets.  The local fish and chips are really nice.
  • Nock Family
We really liked the house.  We like the cow theme.  Lovely house, well equipped will recommend.  Thanks.  Enjoyed curry from Curry Leaf.  Visited 'Salt' not cheap but very nice.
  • Bannaghan Family
Great place, clean, all mod cons you'll need.  Have left tubs and cutlery for picnics coz we could not get in car! - Too many presents!!  The whole coast is amazing - sunshine all week.  We would highly recommend Healey's Cider Farm.  If you have a family - Lands End is £4 car and then you have to pay for everything.  Seal Sanctuary is very expensive also.  Enjoy the whole coast , we will be back v soon!  Happy Holiday x
  • Comment From Sarah - Thank you for the feedback - make sure you print off any vouchers before you go and look in reception at the site for leaflets as some have vouchers in them too for major attractions.
  • L & N
Very nice accommodation and beautifully fitted with all mod cons and good appliances.  Had a good holiday relaxing - weather could have been a bit better!  Used some of the site facilities - pool good.  Sid came 'knocking' with babies on the roof to the right.  Would definitely recommend.
  • Westbrook Family
Had a great long weekend.  Lands End great apart from the weather!  Marazion and St Ives were great and so was the weather.  Played golf at Greenacres then visited St Just.  Great pasty from Philps in village for lunch.  Walked across causeway (paddled!) from Marazion to St Michael's Mount for lunch.  Back to Rosarios for Cream tea!  Evening meal at Lamb & Flag in Cannonstown - highly recommended.  Travelled to St Ives on Train from Lelant Saltings.  Very good day - ice cream was fantastic.  Thanks Sarah we all had a lovely holiday and would recommend your holiday home to anyone!
  • Comment From Sarah - Thank you for the feedback - sounds like you loved the food - recommend the Lamb & Flag ourselves - in the winter and quieter season you can always get a table but maybe better to book in the summer months.
  • P & L
Great accommodation.  Fantastic week, weather great, what more could you ask for!  Hayle and St Ives are a little piece of heaven.  Saw Sid he followed us out to the car park (on foot!) but didn't fancy coming out with us for the day.
  • Macleod Family
Lovely accommodation - like a home away from home!  Met Sid - he joined us for breakfast tapping on the door!  Hayle beach is beautiful - St Ives worth a look - Lovely dinner at the Star Inn St Erth.  Would gladly come back Thank you x

2009

  • Bonner Family
Accommodation is very well supplied and clean on arrival.  Good holiday which had something for everyone.  Very good information for new arrivals.
  • J & L
Accommodation was left clean and tidy.  Well equipped with electricals.  Lovely local beaches only a short drive away.  Thank you will recommend.
  • S & D
St Ives beautiful - beach great and lovely shops.  Sennon Beach the best - really equipped!  Hayle Beach lovely but be prepared to climb a hill!  Club really expensive for drinks!  Will definitely book for next year!
  • Withers Family
Best Beaches - Porthcurno, Porthminster (St Ives)  Places to Visit - Paradise Park, Lands End.  Eating Out - Bucket of Blood (Pub), Balancing Eel (St Ives) (for fish & chips)
  • Peacey Family
Superb family accommodation, comfortable, well equipped, lovely modern kitchen area.  Dishwasher a fantastic thoughtful idea for house guests - No washing up what a treat!  We love St Ives - it's really lovely at dusk with cafe/bars bistros all lit up - alive and kicking a great atmosphere.  Curry Leaf in Hayle for a great takeaway.   Hope to return.
  • Minnigin Family
Very well equipped accommodation - particularly nice kitchen area.  Hayle Beach area lovely.  Trip to Cider Farm worth while as well as Trebarwith Sands and Widemouth Beach.
  • Comments From Minnigin Children
Hampsons of Hayle is the best place for pasties.  For a fun family day out go to Springfields Fun Park and Pony Centre.  We saw Sid - he just wouldn't come off that roof!  I enjoyed my stay here - Foxy Club was THE BEST!   The park was immense!
  • Kelly Family
Great accommodation, everything you need.   Would recommend visiting
  • St Ives* - A lovely town, charming & full of character.  Good shops and places to eat.  We saw 4 seals in the harbour that surfaced after a small fishing boat of mackerel came in to off load.  Fed them a few of the fish from the catch.  Great experience, most memorable. *Point to note:- Parking in St Ives not that easy as car parks soon get full.  We caught the train from Leland Saltings.  Only 10 mins and not expensive for a return group ticket.  Parking £2.00 or free in evening.
  • Lizard Point - Fantastic scenery and view, well worth the drive.  Lovely little restaurant/cafe recommended to us by the man on the gate to the National Trust car park.  Great food and not too expensive.  Best view on the Terrace overlooking the sea.  The Lighthouse had things to see and do (although we didn't visit due to lack of time.)
  • Perranporth - was good for a day at the beach.  If you get there early should get a spot in the car park at the front.  At low tide the sea retreats for 1/4 mile leaving a huge expanse of sand.  Hayle Beach and Carbis Bay looked great also if you don't want the drive.
  • Lands End - Good to see and say you've been.
  • Tolroy Manor - Evening Entertainment good for kids.  Relaxed Family Atmosphere.
  • Comment From Sarah - Thank you Kelly Family for a wonderful Holiday Report.  Judith Chalmers watch out!!!!
  • Green Family
Fabulous accommodation.  All mod cons.  A lovely apartment.  Entertainment in the club was awful (must have pick a bad week for it)  Otherwise we had a great week.  Loved Hayle Beach, Lands End, Penzance, Holywell Bay, Falmouth, St Ives & Newquay.  Weather better towards the end of the holiday.  Thanks for having us, would definitely come back.
  • Crow Family
Great Accommodation!  Weather Great!  Had Great Holiday!  Wish I could take Sid home - love him.
  • Crayden Family + Grandad & Grandma
We loved the accommodation!  We couldn't believe how clean and well equipped it was!  Our favourite day out was The Eden Project.  Plenty of places there to enjoy a picnic.  Sennon Cove was our favourite beach.  Great for young children, shallow water for some distance, toilets, cafe, etc.  Kids loved it!  Paradise Park was a superb day out.  Newquay was full of Hen & Stag Parties - a bit too commercialised for us.  St Ives superb and beautiful.  Minack Theatre was mind blowing although not for young children.
  • Bagnall/Evans Family
Lovely accommodation, spotlessly clean and full equipped with everything you could need.  Weather was great and Sid the Seagull paid us plenty of visits!  Flambards is a great day out - especially for younger children.  Dairyland a good trip too.  Carbis Bay Beach is beautiful and has a handy shop and toilets etc.  Would recommend the house to family and friends and would love to come back ourselves!  We agree swimming pool is too cold!!
  • Hickman/Frost Family
Wonderful accommodation.  So well equipped unbelievable!!  We were down here for my son's wedding in Penzance.  The weather was fantastic and continues to be so.  Would recommend it thoroughly and would love to come back.  We've met "Sid" what a character!!
  • Clark Family
Accommodation very nice, well equipped.  We all enjoyed body boarding and surfing at Gwithian Beach.  St Ives good day out.  Recommend the Watermill Pub near St Ives - great food!  Swimming Pool too cold, entertainment good for young children.
  • Brooks Family
Apartment clean, love all the cows everywhere.  The bedrooms have a very homely feel, but the children found that the top bunk bed was very hard to get in and out of.  We also thought that the bathroom was in very good condition.

Excellent Accommodation everything catered for and well equipped.  Trevarno Gardens and Eden Project worth the visits.  Watch out for Sid the Seagull who makes regular visits.  Thanks!
  • Lemar Family
Accommodation is brill - has everything you can wish for.  St Ives is beautiful.  Has fab shops and lovely beach.  If you like pastys, you have to visit The Yellow Canary Cafe.  If you fancy a take away we would recommend The Curry Leaf.  Will definitely come again!
  • Gemmell Family
We had a lovely holiday.  The accommodation was great but weather unfortunately poor.  Plenty of things to do for all ages.  Flambards really good value for money.  Kids loved it.  St Ives is wonderful.  One of my most favourite places in the world.  Spent many summers there.  Would have to recommend The Curry Leaf for take away (Salmon tika starter)  delicious.  Great Mexican in St Ives also if you like that.  Thanks again x
  • Costello Family
Very welcoming.  Last guest had kindly left milk, tea bags etc which was nice.  Sid still going strong.  Had a lovely holiday thanks for the use of your lovely place it was moo-valous.
  • Smith Family
The accommodation is great.  Cornwall is great.  The biggest upset is the seagulls continuous screaming.
  • Smith Family
Smith Family - Great chalet - very comfortable and well equipped.  Good base for lovely trips out - recommend Mullion Cove, Porthleven, St Ives and Falmouth.  No sign of Sid, but his brothers and sisters were looking for him!  Cheers x
  • Nazzal Family
Impressed by how clean the property was.  The area lovely.  St Ives had the best beach, but Hayle good too.  Lappa Valley Steam Train great day out for kids.  Thanks for good holiday.
  • Mr & Mrs Anderton
Very well equipped accommodation.  Good base for the West of Cornwall.  Enjoyed trip to Falmouth to see the tall ships.
